Frequently Asked Questions
If I have previous cosmetic tattoos, will I be a viable candidate to have brows done by you?
We are extremely selective when we work on other peoples work. Email a bright, clear, no makeup photos of previous work prior to booking an appointment. DO NOT book an appointment if you have previous work done by another artist.
How long does it take to heal?
It takes approximately 10-14 days for the brows to heal over, it takes 4 weeks for the “milky” appearance to change into the fully bloomed color.
Is the touch up session necessary?
Yes! A touch up session after 5-8 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. The follow up visit is meant to make adjustments and needed and to refine the final results.
What if I need an additional touchup after my 5-8 week session?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee 100% pigment retention. Additional touch up appointments may be needed for oily, problematic skin, those with dark pigmented skin and people who do not follow after care instructions properly. There is an additional charge for this.
Is it painful?
Prior to the procedure a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure if necessary. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic, the pain level will vary with each individual. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn
How long does permanent makeup last?
Permanent makeup typically lasts about 1-3 years, depending on skin type, age and lifestyle. Clients who have oily skin, or excessively sweat or do not protect them from the sun will typically fade faster. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary.
Who is not a candidate for permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is not suitable for the following candidates:
Anyone using Accutane. Accutane usage must be stopped for at least 1 full year prior to microblading.
Have heart conditions or using heart medications
Have diabetes (will require a physician's note)
Have skin disease or irritations on the face
Prone to Keloids
Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine
Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note.
Pregnant women
Nursing clients who want to microblade can be done at your own discretion. We suggest discussing with your doctor first.
What are the possible risks and complications?
We take all proper precautions for a safe session by using sterilized equipment and new needles in a sanitized environment. Should clients follow our pre and post care instructions, there should be minimal risks or complications. Although allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, it could be possible for certain individuals. We suggest a pigment patch test for individuals who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to:
Topical makeup products
Gold, silver and nickel
Hair dyes
Patch tests should be performed 5-7 days prior to your appointment
How long is the appointment?
Please allow at least two hours plus for your initial appointment to ensure set up and critiquing symmetry.
Can I bring a friend to an appointment?
Due to the size of the studio it is preferred you come alone, but absolutely no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the studio.
